ER2 by Bandai and Evolution Robotics, Pasadena, CA (2003). The ER2 is a small, stout robot with a camera eye, earlike appendages and a video screen on its chest. It includes an innovative new technology known as visual simultaneous localisation and mapping (VSLAM) and can carry out tasks ranging from home security to reading with children. "One of our most attention-grabbing applications allowed the robot and a child to read a book together! With a child sitting cross-legged on the floor facing the robot, ER2 used its visual pattern recognition to identify the book and the current page. By tracking the child’s finger gestures, the robot was able to read sentences aloud, provide word definitions, and play fun sound effects." – ER2: Home robot, Trylonix Corporation.

Not Faroff related BUT I wanted to share! Every year I will draw the OCs of my first webcomic idea (which eventually got shelved) just to see my art improvement.
First is 2016, the second is 2025.

In 2016 I never EVER thought I'd get to where I am now, and I still have a long way to go. But it's always fun to see the art improvement over the years!

ER1 Personal Robot System by Evolution Robotics, Pasadena, CA (2002). "Coupled with Robot Control Center software and your laptop, the ER1 can be taught to negotiate your home, recognize objects visually, obey voice commands, and speak using its own text-to-speech voice. The solid aluminumĀ ER1Ā is available either in kit form or already assembled. If you're handy with a screwdriver, you can spend a couple of hours and save $200. All the electronics come assembled. Once you've finished building the frame, just plug in the beefy stepper motors, the rechargeable power supply, and the control box. Your laptop rests on the ER1's cushioned mounts and connects through its USB ports to the robot's camera and control box." – ER1 Robot Kit, by Jay Munro.
Evolution Robotics "makes its technologies available to the developer community through the ER1, a programmable robot kit that can be purchased on the Evolution Robotics website and at leading technology retailers. Evolution Robotics mission is to accelerate the personal robot industry and help spur the creation of a variety of highly functional personal robot products that will become indispensable in our daily lives, at home and at work." – Bandai to Create Doraemon Robots, by Christopher Macdonald, Anime News Network.

Narius
Narius is the crew's experienced, although rather temperamental, xenobiologist from the Sal'citaa species. Heā€˜ll play an important role in the open-ended comic we plan to make about our universe, which will be told from the perspective of the Artox Trahelis crew members and Eight as the protagonist. More context and lore about this character will be added to our site in the future. :) Artworks are protected with Glaze. šŸ”¹Support our projects on Patreon or SubscribeStar.Adult šŸ”¹Join our Discord!

here, have this little headcanon idea of mine that spiraled out of control
Excerpt from Alpha Trion's Notes On Cybertronian Evolutionary History
Shuttles are a curious part of Cybertron's history, and have been something of an enigma for many megavorns. Despite often being depicted as the larger cousins of Seekers, shuttles actually share more of their CNA with aquatic Transformers than they do with any other flying frametype. Recently-discovered archeological evidence suggests that what we know as "shuttles" may have started as a group of submarines whose territory became isolated from the rest of the oceans during a major drop in sea levels, and adapted to this by evolving flight capabilities to move more easily between bodies of water and find Energon. Owing to their size and weight, this new frametype required a massive amount of thrust just to take off. Thus, the first shuttles were forced to rely on rocket-powered flight, a relatively uncommon means of propulsion on Cybertron. This incidentally allowed them to avoid conflict by ascending to high altitudes, where other flying frametypes could not follow without risking a deadly engine stall as the atmosphere grew too thin to support them. Over time, as high-altitude flight proved a much safer means of movement for them than swimming, shuttles largely abandoned the oceans to become more specialized fliers. Their frames became increasingly optimized for this purpose--rather than the sleek agility seen in Seekers, they specialized in an incredible amount of raw thrust, allowing for higher top speeds at the cost of maneuverability. Likewise, their armor adapted to the task on both an external and internal level: in addition to further optimization of their plating for space travel, they developed a heat-resistant layer of outer armor to protect them from the friction generated as they moved at top speed or reentered the planet's atmosphere. These adaptations eventually allowed shuttles to freely leave and reenter the atmosphere, making the stars their new home.
